LITTLE BROWN BAT

Weighing in a less than half-an-ounce, little brown bats eat at least half their body weight in insects each night. They serve an important role in the ecosystem by controlling pest populations of insects, and are able to eat over 1,000 mosquitoes each night. They use a supersense called "echolocation", which allows them to bounce noise off of objects in their environment in order to identify what lies in their surroundings.
